He noted that researchers in every country can play a pivotal role in problem solving by aligning their work with societal needs across various domains.According to the university’s news correspondent, Dr. Kabiri, speaking to faculty members of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, highlighted the importance of impactful research, stating that scientific output achieves true value when it contributes to solving real world problems. During the workshop, he discussed strategies for directing a portion of national research efforts toward addressing pressing societal issues. He further underscored that, beyond knowledge production, universities have an intrinsic responsibility to generate impactful research initiatives and produce robust, evidence based data to inform scientific policymaking.Dr. Kabiri expressed optimism that the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences given its mission centered on social health and the strong scientific capacity of its researchers will continue to lead in developing impactful research projects and contribute meaningfully to addressing societal challenges.In the same session, Dr. Talieh Zarifian, Director of Medical Information and Scientific Resources at the university, explained that the Altmetrics workshop was organized in alignment with the university’s mission to advance knowledge production and strengthen scientific authority. She noted that the workshop was well received by faculty members.She added that, in response to the existing gap between academia and the broader community, the university’s Office of Medical Information and Scientific Resources, in collaboration with the Office of Education, organized this one day event focusing on enhancing research impact.Dr. Zarifian further explained that the workshop introduced selected target social media platforms and provided guidance on effective message development and communication strategies for disseminating research. It is noteworthy that the Altmetrics workshop on enhancing research impact was held on January 7 (17 Dey) at Farabi Hall of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, organized by the Vice Chancellor for Research and Technology in collaboration with the Office of Medical Information and Scientific Resources. The workshop was attended by faculty members and included continuing education credits.
